OVERNIGHT CAMP FAQ

FAQ

Q: Where can I find out what to bring, what to expect, when to arrive and all the information I need to come to camp?

Q: My camper is hoping to come to YLCC with a friend. Do you honour friend requests for cabins/groups?

A: When filling out your camper's profile and additional information on CampBrain, you can put in two friend requests.
We do our best to honour friend requests for both cabins and groups.

Please note that Cabin and Day Groups are created by combining campers of the same age and programs. If campers are of different ages and/or signed up in different programs (ex, one camper in L.I.T. and the other in Outtrippers), we will not be able to honour these requests.

Q: What time are pick-up and drop-off?
A: Registration takes place from 4:00-6:00pm on the 1st Sunday of your campers session. You'll stop by our Dining Hall to find out what cabin your camper is in, then help them settle into their new home-away-from-home. After this, time to say goodbye (for now!).

On the last day of your camper's session there is a Graduation Ceremony. Graduation starts at 10am, followed by a BBQ for lunch. Most families are off site by 1pm.

Q: Can I visit my camper? I'm going to miss them lots!

A: Due to our camp days being SUPER full and each part of our curriculum-based program being imperative for your camper to participate in, we do not allow family members to visit. We STRONGLY encourage you attend your camper's Graduation Ceremony on the last day of their session to celebrate your leader's achievements and join us for a BBQ to follow.

Q: How do I communicate with my camper?

A: YLCC goes old school! Letters (snail mail) are a great way to stay connected with your camper! We encourage parents to send letters and well wishes from back at home. Magazines, fun articles, books and photos from home are encouraged. Snacks and candy are not encouraged (the mailroom critter's would be a bit too happy).
We also use a service called Bunk1 where you can email your camper and they will be given a printed copy of this email.
Phone calls are solely for emergencies.

Q: What is the Bunk1 code?

A: When using and signing up for Bunk1 use the code: YLCC2022
Click here for an info sheet.

Q: Are cell phones allowed at YLCC?

A: Nope! YLCC prides itself in being a place where campers can completely disconnect from the outside world and experience camp to its full potential. Plus, we don't want anything high-value getting ruined or lost while at camp.
Please leave cell phones and other electronics at home.

Q: Where can I find a packing list?
A: Right here! Glad you asked :)
