Initiative Navigator
Grades: 9th, 10th
The Initiative Navigator program is one of the most powerful programs that YLCC has to offer. Campers spend 14 days in the outdoors discovering themselves and their potential. Initiative Navigators go a step above and beyond. While at camp Navi’s (as we call them) will sleep in genuine native teepees. Not only do campers learn higher level outdoor skills, but they also partake in an overnight offsite trip. This trip will include a 6 km paddle across Lake Simcoe. Campers will leave YLCC having charted their own course. Also, this program is considered a valuable stepping stone for the Out-tripper program. The Navigator program is a highly popular and beneficial one. To pass the Initiative Navigator program, campers are encouraged to complete 10 out of 12 LEADERSHIP components.
