Alpha Leadership Discovery
Grades: 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th
Alpha Leadership Discovery is the perfect atmosphere for children to begin developing leadership skills. Cabin groups will participate in preliminary leadership programming, cabin choice electives and traditional camp activities. Some highlights include, candle making, campfires, archery, high ropes, tie dying, canoeing, pedal boating, camp dance, and capture the flag! Alpha Leadership Discovery campers will cover introductions to many leadership components:
The Components Are:
- Communication - What is communication? What is the value in listening? Learn skills and the value behind using them.
- Teamwork - What is a team? Why is it important to be a team player? The importance of teamwork is introduced to all Alpha Leadership Discovery campers.
- Creativity - What is creativity? How do we unleash the power of being creative? Watch the creative juices flow when campers return home!
- What is a Leader? - The importance for our youngest campers to start to discover their leadership style and abilities does wonders for their self esteem and confidence.
- Prime Directives - At YLCC we teach key concepts that help young leaders make better choice and have a better understanding of what a leader is. Each level of YLCC these basic but most important components are built upon as campers graduate.
