I have less than a year to live.
Shocking statement isn’t it. If you are to believe a large amount of people that statement is true. Books have been written about it and a really bad movie made over 200 million dollars promoting the idea. Many believe that the world will end this December 21st on the Winter Solstice. This is a Mayan prophecy. It has also been said it’s not the end just the beginning of a new shift in the Universe. Still others have said the date has been misread and it won’t happen until the following year in 2013. Who really knows?
Bottom line is, if it were true what would you do? Would you be proud of the life you have lived to date? Have you contributed to the world in a positive way? What have you accomplished and what have you put off?
Perhaps a good idea would be to pretend that this is it. Your last year. If you knew for sure wouldn’t you live your days differently? If you can say no then good for you! If not, why not start to carve out a year you could be proud of. Look at how you spend your time. Who you surround yourself with and how you fill your soul. Do you read the great works and the biographies of amazing people or do fill your head with pages of gossip rags? Are you wishing you were living someone else’s life or are you creating a life you will be proud of?
If this was the end, perhaps you should make this year a great start!
“To make an end is to make a beginning.” - T.S. Eliot

If I only had one year left to live, I would do more. More reflecting, more reading, more traveling, more visiting and I would work harder on achieving my bucket list. I would have no unfinished business, say what I needed to say to those in my life.
I am proud of the person I am and who I am becoming. Each day I am growing into a better version of myself. I am learning from my mistakes and life experiences. I still have much growing to do and many more things to learn. A year would not feel like enough time.
I try to continue to contribute to society in a positive way. I lead by example, volunteer, involve myself in my community and work for one of the most amazing places, YLCC! The world? I don’t know if I have gone that far yet, but I would love to see my efforts reach that far.
I am working on becoming a better version of myself for 2012. Doing my 22 Day challenges, finishing my unfinished business, analyzing who I surround myself with and how I treat myself. I am determined to find ways to positively fill my soul and being and become a happier and more productive individual.
Looking forward to this brand new beginning and all that 2012 has to offer!
Every moment of your life, including this one, is a fresh start. Jean-Louis Servan-Schreiber

GREAT BLOG
I would live my life very differently but it would not be realistic
I would sell my place and everything I own and travel the world with the people I love.
But that will not happen
So instead I will live my life like I do because no matter how much time I have I still have to be smart - I still have to be realistic
I must work, I must have a place, I must have my friends and family
I am proud of where I am today and I hope that in 6 months I am proud of the new place I stand
I hope that no matter when my times runs out I can say that I lived a great life
And right now I can!!
That is what matters to me!
